Hi all,
Despite producing some very fine tap dancers, Ottawa doesn't really have a tap dance community or centralized point for posting things like events or workshops. So I thought I'd take the lead and start a blog with an associated mailing list (tapitaldance@yahoogroups.com).
If you are interested in tap dance, irish/celtic/ottawa valley step dancing, clogging, or other forms of percussive dance, drop me a line; I'd love to hear from you.

Hey! I think that's a great idea that will build and strengthen the tap community there.
I started locally with a Yahoo mailing list and have now expanded into a blog about tap at www.TapDanceBlog.com where I post videos, commentary, upcoming events, etc. I hope you will come by and check it out.
I've always wanted to learn to tap dance - grew up watching Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly - there's just something about the rhythmic beat of the dance. I would like to take lessons - private preferably - but am having a hard time finding a place in Ottawa. Any suggestions? I am at 46 year old man and somewhat shy to take classes with others. Any info you can provide would be appreciated - thank you. Glenn
Hi Glen,
We are starting up with new classes this fall. There's a beginner adult tap class at the Rockcliffe Park Rec center on Tuesday nights, plus we offer very reasonable private lessons as well. Contact us at 121productions@gmail.com for info.
